Ralph Wayne Zaenger, 84, of Sylvania, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Kingston Residence of Sylvania, Ohio. He was born on November 15, 1932 to Arnold and Ethel (Yarger) Zaenger in Toledo, Ohio. Ralph graduated from Woodward High School in 1950. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving from 1951 to 1955, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Service Medal. Ralph Wayne Zaenger, 84, of Sylvania, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Kingston Residence of Sylvania, Ohio. He was born on November 15, 1932 to Arnold and Ethel (Yarger) Zaenger in Toledo, Ohio. Ralph graduated from Woodward High School in 1950. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving from 1951 to 1955, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Service Medal. He worked various jobs for Dana in Toledo for 30 years, but, acted as the pricing analyst for the majority of his career. Ralph was known by his family as a constant joker, loved fishing and going for leisurely drives with no particular destination in mind. He was also fond of "old time" music and was a ballroom dancer.
Surviving are his wife of 10 years, Marlene Haney Zaenger, of Sylvania, OH, children; Michael (Debra Dean) Zaenger of Canton, OH, Kristine (Scott) Sheamer of Toledo, OH, Ann Marie (Scott) Keeley of TN, step-children; Becky (Dan) Bollin and Brian (Lynne) Haney, both of Toledo, 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, June Zaenger, sister; Vada Dean, Arlene Williams, step-granddaughter, Stephanie Lynn Bollin, and daughter-in-law, Susan Zaenger.

The Zaenger family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Ohio Living Hospice and the Catered Care center of Kingston Residence for their compassion and skilled care.

Per Ralph's wishes, there will be no showing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ohio Living Hospice, 1730 S. Reynolds Road, Toledo, Ohio, 43614, or the Alzheimer's Association.
Keller-Koch-Chudzinski Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, Ohio, 43420, had the privilege of assisting the Zaenger family with funeral services.
